Entertainment Acoustics

Theaters, cinemas, arenas, and museums. Spaces where sound is the product.

Why Entertainment Acoustics Are Critical

In a theater, the audience is there to hear something — a movie, a play, a concert. If the room acoustics fight the sound system or the performers, the experience suffers and people don't come back. In a cinema, sound from one auditorium bleeding into the next ruins both screenings. In a museum, noise control lets visitors focus on the exhibits.

Entertainment venues have the highest acoustic demands of any building type. Reverberation time, frequency response, sound isolation between spaces — everything gets designed and measured. The ceiling and wall surfaces play a major role in hitting those targets.

Products for Entertainment

  • Stretch wall panels — The go-to for theater interiors. Large, seamless fabric surfaces that absorb sound uniformly. Custom colors to match the design scheme.
  • Wood grille ceilings — Performing arts lobbies, museum galleries, and concert hall pre-function spaces.
  • Wood baffles — Concert halls and performance spaces. Acoustic and visual function combined.
  • Soundproofing panels — Cinema auditorium-to-auditorium isolation. STC 60+ assemblies to keep explosions on one screen from bleeding into the rom-com next door.
  • Soundscape baffles — Community theaters, recreation centers, and multi-purpose spaces with high ceilings.
  • Metal ceilings — Arena concourses, museum galleries, and modern performance venue lobbies.
  • Felt wall panels — Practice rooms, green rooms, and backstage areas.

Working with Acoustical Consultants

Most entertainment projects have an acoustical consultant on the design team. They model the room, specify the acoustic targets (RT60, NC levels, STC ratings), and select the products that hit those targets. We work from their specifications and coordinate directly with them during installation. If the consultant says the panels need to be at exactly this height and this spacing — that's what we deliver.
