How We Work
What actually happens when you hire us. No surprises.
Initial Consultation
You call or email us. We ask the basics: what kind of space, how big, what's the timeline, is there an architect or GC involved. If you have drawings, send them over. If not, that's fine — we'll figure it out on site.
For bid work, we review the plans and specs and put together a number. For design-build or direct-hire work, we schedule a site visit.
Site Visit & Measurement
We come out and look at the space. We measure everything, check what's above the ceiling (structure type, existing conditions, MEP rough-ins), note the ceiling heights, and take photos. This is where we catch the stuff that drawings don't show — unlevel decks, conflicting ductwork, access issues.
If it's an existing building with old ceiling that needs replacement, we pop tiles and look at what's up there. No surprises on install day.
Material Selection & Pricing
We recommend products based on what the space needs. If there's an architect spec, we price that. If you need help choosing, we bring samples and explain the options — what each product does, what it costs, and why it matters.
You get a detailed written estimate: material costs, labor, any special equipment (lifts, scaffolding), and a timeline. Line items, not a lump sum. You can see where the money goes.
We order materials with enough lead time that they're on site when we need them. Standard products ship in a few days. Specialty and custom items can take 4-8 weeks.
Scheduling
Ceiling goes in late in the construction sequence. Other trades need to finish their above-ceiling work first — electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinkler. We coordinate with the GC or building manager to slot in at the right time.
For occupied buildings, we work around your business hours. Early mornings, evenings, weekends — whatever keeps disruption to a minimum.
Installation
Our crews show up, set up, and get to work. We protect floors and existing finishes. We keep the area clean as we go — no leaving piles of grid and tile scraps everywhere.
For T-bar ceilings: wall angle first, then hanger wires, main runners, cross tees, and tiles. For specialty work (wood, metal, baffles): each system has its own installation sequence, but the same care goes into every one.
We stay in communication with the GC or building manager throughout. If something comes up — a conflict with another trade, a condition we didn't expect — we deal with it and let you know.
Final Walkthrough & Punch List
When the ceiling is up, we walk it with you. We check every room, every edge, every cut. Grid straight and level. Tiles seated properly. Clean cuts around lights and diffusers. No damaged tiles, no fingerprints, no gaps.
If there's a punch list item, we fix it before we leave. We don't come back three times to close out punch — we get it right and move on.
Warranty & Support
Our workmanship is guaranteed. If something we installed has a problem, call us and we'll fix it. Manufacturer warranties on materials are passed through to you — Armstrong, USG, 9Wood, and the rest all stand behind their products.
We also do warranty work, repairs, and tile replacements down the road. Water damage, renovation, adding a new office — call us. We keep records of what products went into your building so we can match materials years later.
